Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to Uhuru Peak Summit is challenge; however climbers need ample time to acclimatize and hence avoid mountain illness. Mountain illness is also known as altitude sickness. In order to climb slowly, how do you get ample time if you choose Kilimanjaro route with few number of days. So it is recommended you to choose Kilimanjaro trail with best chance to acclimatize like Machame, Lemosho or Northern circuit. First time climbers need Machame route 7 days, Lemosho route 7 days or 8 days trekking and Northern circuit 9 days.
